A fine Rovers team performance last Saturday at Sharpenhoe Road led to three points and a first home league win of the season. Suspensions and injuries led to Manager Tony Fontanelle making a number of changes to the Rovers line-up notably pairing Dan Newton and Kyle Lincoln at centre back with Darryl Harrison and Ronayne Marsh-Brown making home debuts at left-back and centre midfield respectively. Top of the table Rushden & Diamonds were the visitors to Sharpenhoe last Saturday with Rovers hoping to build on a convincing home victory the previous week. The overnight rain had left its impact on the playing surface which had the consistency of a pudding and looking likely to make flowing football a tall order.
