Goalless game but no bore draw

An evenly-contested match with very few clear-cut scoring opportunities ended with the teams sharing a point apiece. Rovers' Connor Vincent and Paul Andrews forced point-blank saves from Yaxley keeper James Blake in each half but Yaxley's finishing was wayward all game and Gary Malone in the Rovers goal was seldom called into serious action. Rovers progress after pen shoot out

Rovers made the short trip to contest this Beds Senior Cup match at Creasey Park the home of AFC Dunstable. The opening exchanges were dominated by the home side aided by the fact that Rovers made a sluggish start and allowing AFC a deal of uncontested possession early on. Just 5 minutes were on the clock when AFC centre-forward B J Christie broke free of the Rovers defence and he should have opened the scoring but fired wide of Dan Gould's right hand post. Honours even with the moles

Rovers hosted fellow strugglers Aylesbury hoping to make it back-to-back league wins following last week's away win at Dunstable Town. Rovers were by far the brightest early on and both Drew Phillips and Connor Vincent had shots at goal that were respectively blocked by Aylesbury Nick Bennion and wide of the target. The first half progressed with Rovers seemingly in control and Aylesbury never troubled the Rovers back four and Gary Malone in goal. Sam Gibson was next to threaten and brought a finger-tip save from Bennion when his shot was deflected goalwards.
