Rovers travelled to Kidlington for this latest league fixture looking to build on a strong recent run of away results. One minor change in the line-up from midweek saw Lee Close return to partner skipper Paul Andrews at centre-half with Gary Jones reverting to his more familiar left-back role. A pleasant evening weather-wise and a pitch looking good despite the advanced stage of this football season - no excuses then for either side and a competitive match anticipated with United flying high in their league at present. Rovers made the short trip to Dunstable for this local derby hoping keep their recent good away record intact. AFC won the toss and elected to play with what was a stiff breeze at their backs first half. AFC were into their stride early and had by far the greater amount of early possession but failed to pressure Gary Malone the Rovers keeper.
