Rovers progress in tough game

Rovers made the long trip into Kent to face Ashford United in this FA Trophy tie and looking to continue a decent run of form of late. Captain Garry Jones and key striker Victor Osobu were both missing this game so Dan Olineran continued at left-back and Reece Weekes made his full debut wide on the left. Table-topping and unbeaten Berkhamsted FC were the latest Sharpenhoe Road visitors for this latest round of league fixtures and likely to provide a stern challenge to Rovers much-improved home form this season. Chichester City were the visitors to Sharpenhoe Road for this FA Trophy tie. Rovers captain Garry Jones was missing through injury and Dan Olineran replaced him in the starting line-up with Victor Osobu, back from suspension, taking the captain’s armband. Rovers made a sparkling start and, as early as the 2nd minute, were a goal up through a spectacular 25-yard strike from Nathan Tshikuna.
