Woes, doom and gloom continue
Rovers woeful form of late continued on Saturday as the Bedfordshire village side made it 8 games without a win at the hands of relegation threatened North Leigh. On a blisteringly hot day in Oxfordshire Rovers won the toss and elected to kick up the slope. The hosts had the better of the opening play with Barton failing to trouble Eddie Cavanagh in the North Leigh goal until a great run from Victor Osobu in the 43rd minute saw a deft lob land on the roof of Cavanagh's net. Like busses two chances came along at once as Osobu rounded the keeper moments later but fluffed his lines at the crucial moment to scuff the ball wide. That was the only reportable action from the 1st half as both teams took to the dressing rooms for some well earned shade.
The second half was much the same as the 1st with the hosts enjoying more opportunity when in possession of the ball. The only goal of the game came as a clumsy challenge in the box by Rovers Matt Hall resulted in Henry Landers converting from the spot to give North Leigh what would turn out to be victory as Barton failed in the 90 mins to get a shot on target. The result lifted the home side out of the relegation places which fueled the fire more for under pressure Rovers manager Tony Fontenelle
