2nd best at The Yeltz
Rovers travelled to the West Midlands to face promotion favourites Halesowen Town in this latest league fixture. A brave showing from the Rovers saw them withstand a fair amount of pressure throughout the first half dominated by Town. Rovers then sprang a surprise when, on the hour mark, a driving run down the right by Victor Osobu cut some space behind the home side’s back four and his cross was partially cleared but only as far as Connor Furlong who opened the scoring with a rasping left foot shot leaving the home keeper grasping at thin air. Town then rang the changes and made three substitutions and, ultimately, their introduction turned the game around when two of the subs, Luke Yates with an equaliser on 69 minutes also put his side in front with 6 minutes remaining, and Jack Holmes with an added-time third that possibly made the outcome look a lot more comfortable than it was for the homesters.
