Barton Rovers came out winners of a seven goal game on Saturday afternoon after beating Northwood 5 2 in an entertaining contest. The Rovers got off to a flying start in the 12th minute as Alfie Warman met Ryan Neufville’s lay off and tapped into an empty net from a yard out.
Rawn Seale added a second in the 33rd minute after Dion Miftari’s cross was misjudged by The Woods keeper and bundled into the net from close range. Northwood struck in the 60th minute through Hamid Seisay to give them hope of getting back into the game.
Albie Hall converted a 70th minute penalty after being brought down and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way. He then added a fourth in the 78th minute following Warman’s effort, which fell kindly for him and deflected into the bottom corner.
Paul Andrews made his long awaited return in the 79th minute after Kai Phelan was forced off through injury. Seisay scored again in the 82nd minute after a poorly defended corner, before Murphy Culkin sealed the three points in the 93rd minute by scoring directly from a corner.
