Rovers second best in Hadley encounter

Barton Rovers fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Hadley on Saturday afternoon, despite taking an early lead.

Murphy Culkin opened the scoring, in the 17th minute, with a well-struck free-kick from the edge of the penalty area, firing low into the bottom corner to give Rovers the advantage.

However, Hadley restored parity in the 39th minute through Jordan Edwards. Rovers goalkeeper Matt Boylan misjudged a cross, allowing Edwards to head the ball over the stranded shot-stopper, who was eight yards off his line.

A poorly defended corner summed up Rovers' afternoon, as the visitors failed to clear a wind-assisted delivery, allowing Louis Udeh to put Hadley ahead in the 52nd minute, inside the six-yard box.

It proved to be a frustrating afternoon for Rovers, who failed to register any notable attempts on target following Hadley's second goal. The defeat brought Rovers' four-match unbeaten run to an end, rounding off a disappointing afternoon.
