The Rovers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Didcot Town as they extended their lead at the top of the table, on Tuesday evening.

Tali Jallow was named in the Rovers starting eleven, after signing from Stratford Town earlier on in the week.

The Rovers had the fastest start out the blocks, Culkin delivering three excellent crosses only to be cut out by Didcot skipper Adam Learoyd.

Didcot nearly had the opener after Fabio Silvestri span the ball towards his own net, only to be saved by the backtracking Matt Boylan.

The Rovers first noticeable chance came in the 38th minute. Rawn Seale had a golden opportunity inside the six yard box, but he could only turn to the left side of the post.

Didcot opened the scoring in the 42nd minute through top scorer Owen James. His effort from inside 12 yards beat Boylan into the back of the net.

Powfil Raposo had a chance in the 51st minute to level, but his circled effort was a routine stop for Leigh Bedwell in the Didcot net.

Raposo turnt his marker in the 54th minute before his lay-off to Kian Wilkes was cleared.

George Joyce had a chance from the edge of the area, in the 72nd minute, after a good spell of play from the Rovers, but he couldn’t turn it goalwards.

Josh Rodrigues was forced into two back-to-back clearances off the Rovers goal line, in the 84th minute, after the Rovers’ defence failed to clear both corners from Didcot.

Tyrone Shiham’s incredible skill move put him one-on-one with the Didcot shot-stopper from a tight angle, but his attempt was saved, in added time.

Didcot held on for three points, which sees them extend their lead at the top of the table, and The Rovers will be looking to bounce back against Potters Bar on Saturday afternoon.
