Rovers come out on top in a 7 goal thriller!

The Rovers made the perfect start after just six minutes. Murphy Culkin’s free-kick found Kian Wilkes, who headed home to put Rovers in front. Powfil Raposo doubled the advantage in the 17th minute, being played through before calmly finishing his one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Barton Rovers continued to dominate and added a third in the 35th minute. Hilaire’s cross reached Tyrone Shiham at the back post, with Shiham bundling the ball home. Hadley pulled one back in the 40th minute before adding another three minutes later, setting up a dramatic finish to the half. Despite the late pressure, The Rovers went into the break 3-2 ahead.

Powfil Raposo restored the Rovers’ two-goal advantage shortly after the break, with a neat finish into the roof of the net. Hadley then found their third, in the 59th minute, setting up a tense final half-hour.

Matt Boylan made two great saves to keep The Rovers in front, with Barton Rovers eventually holding on through the five minutes of added time to secure all three points in a thrilling seven-goal encounter.
