Rovers bow out of the FA Cup in the third qualifying round.

Barton Rovers were knocked out of the FA Cup by Biggleswade Town Fc in the third qualifying round after 7 games and 17 goals scored in the competition.

It was a cagey first ten minutes as both teams tried to figure one another out. The Waders had the first chance of the game as Dasilva had a go from range but it was a routine save for Barton keeper Gauthier. After fifteen minutes, the hosts found their feet and took the game to Rovers as they looked the more threatening side. Rovers looked to hit Biggleswade on the break and did well in the twentieth minute when Grant got a great ball across the Waders' box, it led to nothing though.

The hosts ultimately took the lead in the thirty-second minute after a period of pressure and attacks. After scoring, they almost doubled their lead as the striker found himself 1on1 against Gauthier, however, Warman made a great last-ditch attempt to prevent a shot from firing and blocked his effort. Rovers almost got a goal back just before halftime as Phelan hit the post after a good set-piece routine was swung into the box.

Rovers went into the break a goal down. In the second half, The waders came out all guns blazing and looked to finish the tie off early doors as they forced Phelan and Gauthier to make blocks early on. Rovers would have the ball in the back of the net in the sixtieth minute but it was disallowed for offside.

The hosts doubled their lead in the eighty-third minute from the spot after Maher was penalised for a harsh handball. Although the second goal looked to kill the game, Rovers immediately responded as Neufville scored just a minute after the penalty to lower the deficit.

The referee added on seven minutes of additional time and Rovers piled bodies forward. Unfortunately, Biggleswade capitalised on this and finished the game off in the dying moments of the game as they scored on the counterattack.

The result ended 3-1 to Biggleswade Town who will be in the hat on Monday, for Barton their next tie comes next Saturday against Stotfold in the league.
